A selection of my silk bow ties ato celebrate National Bow Tie Day. Most of these are not labelled. Some of them are from Turnbull & Asser.
The bow tie originated among Croatian mercenaries during the Thirty Year War of the 17th Century. They tied a scarf around their necks to hold the opening of their shirts together.
Hacking out kit – well worn Huntsman riding breeches, made 1948 for R S Anderson, as detailed on the Huntsman label. John Lobb boots bespoke made 1957, and Purdey linen socks bought new.
Made in 1957 within 3 weeks including the lasts. Refurbished by Lobbs for my fitting in 2012
One of my many pairs of bespoke shoes I will be sharing with you. The pair pictured here has original trees and monogrammed dust bags. The laces are leather too. I will combine these with a tweed suit later in the year for full affect.
